Celebrating grassroots football, local talent, and sporting excellence in Bundibugyo District, Uganda.

The Tournament That Changed Local Football in Bundibugyo

Grassroots football has always been the heartbeat of many communities across Uganda, but few competitions have transformed local football quite like the 5Guys Onlife Trophy Football Tournament (OT).

Launched on 16 August 2022 in Nyahuka Town Council, Bundibugyo District, the tournament was founded and continues to be fully organized and sponsored by the management of the 5Guys Books and Sports Centre (5Guys Shop).

From its very first whistle, the vision was clear:

create a football tournament where young people compete on merit, discipline comes first, corruption has no place, and local talent receives the recognition it deserves.

Four successful editions later, the Onlife Trophy has become one of the most followed football competitions in Bundibugyo District, bringing together clubs from nearly ten sub-counties and even welcoming teams from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

More than a tournament, the Onlife Trophy has become a movement for youth empowerment, sportsmanship, and community unity.

Why the Onlife Trophy Stands Out

Unlike many local competitions, the 5Guys Onlife Trophy has built its reputation on principles that supporters and participating clubs have come to trust.

✔ Fair Competition
Every match is conducted under clear regulations with zero tolerance for match-fixing or corruption.

✔ Discipline First
Respect for officials, opponents, and tournament rules remains one of the tournament’s defining values.

✔ Opportunity for Young Talent
The competition provides an important platform for emerging footballers to showcase their skills and gain valuable competitive experience.

✔ Professional Organization
From fixtures and communication to digital promotion and branding, the tournament is managed with professionalism that has earned admiration across Bundibugyo District.
