Rules and Regulations Onlife Trophy 2023

Article i: Scope and organization

  1. Onlife Trophy Football Tournament’s scope is to promote local talent in sports by bringing youths together in a neutral and corruption-free football competition organized by fellow youths.
  2. This annual Football Tournament is sponsored and organized by the proprietor(s) of 5Guys Books and Sportings Shop and Website. A few individuals are selected to help in its management and running.
  3. The Onlife Trophy caters for all. This is clearly seen when it comes to the tournament’s awards, whereby the best four teams share slightly equal prizes.
  4. More than eight merit and nomination based prizes are also awarded. For example; the top scorer, the best Goalkeeper, the best referee, the best manager, the most disciplined team, extra.
  5. Onlife Trophy is officially registered and affiliated with Bundibugyo District Football Association (BDFA) as an annual District Tournament.

Article ii: Team Registration and Terms

  1. The registration fee is UgShs. 50,000 only.
  2. Every Team is supposed to register its players by filling the registration forms in the stipulated time on our calendar of events.
  3. Every team is supposed to register up to 22 players and 3 officials.
  4. A team is supposed to upload passport sized photos of their selected team to make a team album.
  5. Only players on that team album are supposed to play in that specific team.
  6. Only registered players and officials will be allowed to enter freely to participate in their match when entrance is not free.

Article iii: Players and Matches

  1. A player and a team should both agree before a team player list or album is made.
  2. A player should be registered in only one team.
  3. If a player is registered in two teams, he will be considered a player of the first team that registered him on Team Album, in case a better resolution is lacking.
  4. A team that uses a player not in their player Album will be fined and can be disqualified automatically.
  5. Any player who gets a direct red card, he is supposed to miss the next match.
  6. A team must report in time, 30 minutes before the kickoff.
  7. Late coming of teams is highly discouraged as it changes the timings.
  8. Full Time of a match will go for 90 minutes plus added time decided by the Referee.
  9. In case a match is disturbed by calamities like rainfall: if the match will have been played up to the 75th minute, the game will be stopped, standing results retained and the remaining minutes will be played on another day agreed upon by the teams and the organizing committee. If the game is called off before the above minute, the game will be replayed and results nullified.
  10. Injuries and other related situations that may occur during match day, responsibility is not for the Organizers

Article iv: Teams and Officials

  1. Team officials are expected to cooperate with the organizers for the smooth running of the Tournament
  2. Two to Three team officials or players are expected to be active participants in the WhatsApp group of OT Teams for quick updates and collaboration.
  3. Teams should show good discipline
  4. Teams should tame their fans not to create disorder during matches.
  5. In case of damage as a result of misconduct of a player or a team or a fan, the subject involved will be responsible in person.
  6. A team should be smart during match day.

Article v: Law and Misunderstandings

  1. Any misunderstanding should be reported to organizers in time.
  2. Any team to write a petition letter, it is supposed to do it within the same day of the match and before midnight.
  3. Petition fee of UgShs. 30,000 should accompany the petition letter within the same time limit.
  4. In case of a petition, the involved team should show clear evidence.
  5. In case a knockout game is played up to Full Time and becomes late and impossible to play penalties, either the penalties will be played on another day or the two teams should be ready to collaborate financially to replay Full Time on another stipulated date.
  6. Teams and players should be updated about the new rules and regulations of Football by our DFA, FUFA and FIFA at large.
  7. Any player, Team officials, referee or coordinator of Onlife Trophy that will be involved in corruption to favor or discriminate against any Team will be penalized by 5Guysbiz Management and can be reported to BDFA for further penalties.
  8. Teams and their fans should keep law and order, otherwise the organizers will not be responsible for any circumstances apart from calling law enforcement agents.
  9. Since it is said that there are teams that use witchcraft (Bisingo) publicly, in case a team or a player or a fan is involved such, three points and two goals will be deducted from their points during group stages, and during knockout stages the team can be bound to automatic disqualification.
  10. No team or player or fan should accuse another team for having used witchcraft (Bisingo) without clear evidence. In case a team is involved in such, it will be deducted 2 points and 1 goal in group stages and during knockout stages the team can also be bound to automatic disqualification.

Article vi: Awards

  1. Onlife Trophy is very inclusive and tries to award every team that participates.
  2. It awards the best four teams, and gives various discounts to teams that participate during the registration fee of next season.
  3. With the expectation of at least 12 – 16 teams registering, the Organizers are determined to award the Winner with UgShs. 300,000, and the second with UgShs. 200,000. The third team with UgShs. 100,000 and the fourth team UgShs. 50,000.
  4. The above mentioned amounts will change accordingly if the expected teams to register are less or more.
  5. The winner will lift and celebrate with the Onlife Trophy Cup for a period that is not more than 1 month. If the winner will need to have his own trophy, part of his award will be used to buy it.
  6. Participation discount for next season will be 10% for any registered team, 20% for teams that reach semi finals and 40% for the Champions.
  7. The best four teams will be awarded a certificate of their position.
  8. More than 8 merit and nomination based awards will be put in place by the organizing committee. For example: The best goalkeeper, top scorer, best coach, disciplined team, best referee etc.
  9. Merit and nomination based awards can be monetary or medals.
