Nyahuka United crowned Champions Onlife Trophy 2024-25

Nyahuka United Fc crowned Champions of the 5Guys Onlife Trophy 2024 – 2025. The Finals of the third edition of the 5Guys Football Tournament took place on Sunday 19/01/2025 at Kisubba Primary School playground in Kaghema Town Council.

The Boys from Kalera Nyahuka Town council made history by winning the tournament with an unbeaten record. They played seven games. Drew three and won four. The Champions never allowed any team to take them in penalties during knockouts.

Nyakakindo Young Blood Fc lifted the trophy during the first edition in the 2022-23 finals. Young Blood Fc aka Team Bikopo did the same in 2023-24 finals at Bundingoma playground.

The vibe at the pitch was massive therefore, football fanatics enjoyed the day as they supported their teams. This third edition was the most competitive ever recorded in this tournament history.

Honorable Babungi B. Josephine the Women Member of parliament graced the event. Hon. Phina has grown her fame and leadership due to her credibility in uplifting the people of Bundibugyo.

The Honorable has made physical contributions and investments in Bundibugyo. These have helped the local people in the sectors of education, religion, trade, tourism and Entertainment to mention just a few.

A couple of artists performed at the event among them included Hot City Music and Kaghema problem based Chosen Dannex and Bigwig among others.

They Congratulated Nyahuka United Fc who were crowned Champions of Onlife Trophy third edition. More so, all the teams who tried their best to follow the rules of the tournament.

Teams who participate in the 5Guys Onlife Trophy rank it as the best tournament in the District. In addition, some members of the football fraternity make the same compliments.

Conclusively, As Onlife Trophy management we offer a conducive atmosphere and equality to participants. Meanwhile, we remind teams to collaborate especially in paying full registration fees and early registration of their players.

As 5Guys Business we aim at promoting talent in football and unity among Youths by sponsoring and organizing this annual football tournament.

Who becomes the Champion? The journey of semifinalists Onlife Trophy 2024

The search for the Champions of the 5Guys Onlife Trophy 2024 is still on. This third edition of the tournament sponsored by 5Guys Books and Sports Centre has shown itself as the most competitive ever.

It is worth noting that Onlife Trophy 2024 registered 17 teams in total. Of which 7 were new entries while 10 teams have experience in this game changer tournament.

Participants in the 2024 edition included; Mamba Boys, Mafu-Mafu Fc, Kaghema PSG (formerly Picfare Boys), Crown stars Kabutabule, Nyakakindo Young Blood, NBBS Bundingoma, Elites Soccer Academy Bundingoma, Njuule United, Busoru Vipers, Bundikahungu United, Nyambaro United, Busu Planet and Bhamba United.

And then the Semifinalists Nyahuka United, Holy Unity Busunga, Busoru Express and Super Lions Fc Hakitara.

What to know about the semifinalists 2024

Two of the teams are new entries i.e. Busoru Express and Super Lions Hakitara.  One team makes it to the semifinals for the first time i.e. Nyahuka United while Holy Unity makes the second experience at this stage.

Nyahuka United Fc

For the host team of the sponsors of this tournament, it is their second campaign in Onlife Trophy history. Nyahuka United participated in the second edition and ended in the quarter finals. Their journey was cut short by the Home Boys of Busunga (Busunga Hotspurs) on 31/12/2023.

Nyahuka United Football Club is coached by Tumwesige Johnson who is assisted by Amidu Bernard. Tumwesige Robert is their registered Team captain. The Team which is also in the district league for season 2024-25 is based in Nyahuka TC.

This team is among the unbeaten so far this edition. It topped group D with 8 points. And their striker Nicholas Bafana has three goals.

Busoru Express Fc

It is the first Time for Busoru Express to participate in the Onlife Trophy. This team qualified for the quarter finals through playoffs which they never played due to the hooliganism shown by NBBS.

Busoru Express then stunned Crown Stars at the latter’s home-ground Bubandi Seed 4:1 goals. The Three Lions will be challenged by Super Lions FC Hakitara in the semis.

Their coach is called Businge Burasia and he is assisted by Monday David Kapanga. Byamaka Mitedio Costa is their Team Captain.

Super Lions Hakitara

This is also a new entry in the Onlife Trophy. The Supper Lions of Hakitara centre were successful in Group D where they managed to become number two.

They are coached by Lumumba Patrick. And Mpwerwa Edward Helps him. Kyalimpa Bright aka Fieldman wears the captain ring. The team has so far un beaten record.

It qualified for the semifinals without playing the game as Mamba Boyz was challenged by an urgent responsibility preferred to the game. Here is their last Campaign;

Holy Unity Fc

This is the only team that has ever participated in all the three seasons of this tournament. In the first edition they reached the semifinals and they were removed by two times Champion Young Blood Fc.

Meanwhile in the second edition their campaign ended in group stages. This team took advantage of players from Boston Fc Bundingoma and Busunga Hotspurs who never registered in this edition.

The team managed by Busobozi Alex is still unbeaten also. And their player Mpampe Joshua with 5 goals is the top scorer as per time this article was written.

This team has diehards both from Busunga Town council and Bundingoma S/C. Their team captain Brian Aliganyira alias Pogba aims high in lifting this Trophy.

Rules and Regulations Onlife Trophy 2024

Article I: Scope and organization

  1. Onlife Trophy Football Tournament’s scope is to promote local talent in sports by bringing youths together in a neutral and corruption-free football competition organized by fellow youths.
  2. This annual Football Tournament is sponsored and organized by 5Guys Books and Sportings Centre Nyahuka. A few individuals are selected to help in its management and running.
  3. The Onlife Trophy caters for all. This is clearly seen when it comes to the tournament’s awards, whereby the best four teams share slightly equal prizes.
  4. More than eight merit and nomination based prizes are also awarded. For example; the top scorer, the best Goalkeeper, the best referee, the best manager, the most disciplined team, extra.
  5. Onlife Trophy is officially registered and affiliated with Bundibugyo District Football Association (BDFA) as an annual District Tournament.

Article II: Team Registration and Terms

  1. The registration fee for new teams is UgShs. 50,000 only. Teams that have ever participated get registration offers accordingly
  2. Every Team is supposed to register its players by filling the registration forms in the stipulated time on our calendar of events.
  3. Every team is supposed to register up to 25 players and 3 officials.
  4. A team is supposed to upload passport sized photos of their selected team to make a team album.
  5. Only players on that team album are supposed to play in that specific team.
  6. Only registered players and officials will be allowed to enter freely to participate in their match when entrance is not free.

Article III: Players and Matches

  1. A player and a team should both agree before a team player list or album is made.
  2. A player should be registered in only one team.
  3. If a player is registered in two teams, he will be considered a player of the first team that registered him on Team Album, in case a better resolution is lacking.
  4. A team that uses a player not in their player Album will be fined and can be disqualified automatically.
  5. Any player who gets a direct red card, he is supposed to miss the next match.
  6. A team must report in time, 30 minutes before the kickoff.
  7. Late coming of teams is highly discouraged as it changes the timings.
  8. Full Time of a match will go for 70 minutes plus added time decided by the Referee. According to the situations of the matchday, the referee has the right to state the appropriate Full time.
  9. In case a match is disturbed by calamities like rainfall: if the match will have been played up to the 75% of the stipulated FT, the game will be stopped, standing results retained and the remaining minutes will be played on another day agreed upon by the teams and the organizing committee. If the game is called-off before the above minute, the game will be replayed and results nullified.This can be applied in knockout stages or any other game.
  10. Injuries and other related situations that may occur during match day, responsibility is not for the Organizers

Article IV: Teams and Officials

  1. Team officials are expected to cooperate with the organizers for the smooth running of the Tournament
  2. Two to Three team officials or players are expected to be active participants in the WhatsApp group of OT Teams for quick updates and collaboration.
  3. Teams should show good discipline
  4. Teams should tame their fans not to create disorder during matches.
  5. In case of damage as a result of misconduct of a player or a team or a fan, the subject involved will be responsible in person.
  6. A team should be smart during match day.

Article V: Law and Misunderstandings

  1. Any misunderstanding should be reported to organizers in time.
  2. Any team to write a petition letter, it is supposed to do it within the same day of the match and before midnight.
  3. Petition fee of UgShs. 30,000 should accompany the petition letter within the same time limit.
  4. In case of a petition, the involved team should show clear evidence.
  5. In case a knockout game is played up to Full Time and becomes late and impossible to play penalties, either the penalties will be played on another day or the two teams should be ready to collaborate financially to replay Full Time on another stipulated date.
  6. Any player, Team official, referee or Onlife Trophy STAFF who will be involved in corruption to favor or discriminate against any Team will be penalized by 5Guys Management and can be reported to BDFA for further penalties. They are expected to do their work properly to avoid double standards.
  7. Teams and their fans should keep law and order, otherwise the organizers will not be responsible for any circumstances apart from calling law enforcement agents.
  8. Since it is said that there are teams that use witchcraft (Bisingo) publicly, in case a team or a player or a fan is involved such, three points and two goals will be deducted from their points during group stages, and during knockout stages the team can be bound to automatic disqualification.
  9. No team or player or fan should accuse another team for having used witchcraft (Bisingo) without clear evidence. In case a team is involved in such, it will be deducted 2 points and 1 goal in group stages and during knockout stages the team can also be bound to automatic disqualification.

Article VI: Awards

  1. Onlife Trophy is very inclusive and tries to award every team that participates.
  2. It awards the best four teams, and gives various discounts to teams that participate during the registration fee of next season.
  3. The Organizers are determined to award the Winner with UgShs. 350,000, and the second with UgShs. 250,000. The third team with UgShs. 150,000 and the fourth team UgShs. 70,000.
  4. The winner will lift and celebrate with the Onlife Trophy Cup for a period that is not more than 1 month. If the winner will need to have his own trophy, part of his award will be used to buy it.
  5. Teams that will have participated in OT24 will get registration fee offers in OT25 accordingly
  6. The best four teams will be awarded a certificate of their position.
  7. More than 8 merit and nomination based awards will be put in place by the organizing committee. For example: The best goalkeeper, top scorer, best coach, disciplined team, best referee etc.
  8. Merit and nomination based awards can be monetary or medals.

Article VII: Knowledge of Football Rules

  1. For order, discipline and time keeping by teams, we can put other regulations during match days.
  2. Teams and players should be updated about the new rules and regulations of Football by our DFA, FUFA and FIFA at large.
